Dear Editor:
On Friday, April 21 I was in a cycling accident near Park Royal, by Winners, on the bike trail from the bridge over the Capilano River. I was bleeding from a deep laceration, lying beside my bike.
I appreciated that a couple of pedestrians called 911 for me. A young man in jogging shorts identified himself as a family doctor and asked to examine the gash on my leg.
He stayed with me to make sure the paramedics dressed the injury before taking me in the ambulance, and to make sure that my bike could go in the ambulance. I didn’t ask him his name and I am not sure if I thanked him enough. I would like him to know that I received excellent care at Lions Gate Hospital emergency, and that I shall have the staples out in 10 days. It was extraordinary to have so much help from a stranger!
