LETTER: Teach your tykes cycling etiquette

Dear Editor:

To the dad who was cycling on the Garibaldi Drive sidewalk with his two young sons (on Saturday, March 18) around 5:30 p.m.

I appreciate that you are actively involved with your boys, but I would like to point out that as I was also walking on that sidewalk and didn’t hear any of you come up behind me, you need to get bells for your bikes so that you can give pedestrians a fair warning of your presence.

Or if that’s too much bother, you can always shout a warning and make sure pedestrians have time to react properly, and teach your kids to do the same.

And a thank-you is always appreciated when pedestrians have to move out of your way.
