Dear Editor:

Last Sunday (Dec. 16) about 6 p.m., our cat was hit by a car at Lynn Valley Road and the entrance to the highway.

I want to thank Jenny and the other three people who stopped to try and help him. Barney had full ID on his collar, allowing Jenny to call me. She and a gentleman (who provided a towel from his car) waited with Barney for me to get there.

Sadly, he was pronounced dead on arrival at the emergency pet hospital. We called Jenny the next day to thank her for making the difficult call, and discovered that four people – complete strangers – had come together to aid our cat. One woman used her car to block traffic so he could be brought to the sidewalk.

We want to thank Jenny and the three other people who took time out of their busy schedules on a dark and rainy night to try and help Barney.

A tragedy in our lives has been tempered by gratitude for the kindness of these four selfless people. Thank you.
