Dear Editor:

Re: Entitled Cyclists Annoy with ‘Never Enough’ Attitude, Aug. 9 Mailbox.

Thank-you, Willow Hayden, for your letter citing cyclists’ blatant disregard for pedestrians. This seems to be happening everywhere on the North Shore, no matter where pedestrians try to walk.

I love walking the Ambleside area. The District of West Vancouver has generously divided the cars from walkers’ area, but walkers share the path with cyclists. I make sure I’m on the side of the road, thus allowing cyclists enough space to pass me. They do so, three and four abreast with complete disregard for any walkers on their path. They’re all in a great hurry to get somewhere. I think they’re under the delusion they’re in the Tour de France. They all wear “professional cycling” outfits, which I find funny because in Europe, thousands of cyclists are on the road, but none of them in the same getup. Perhaps if they were, they wouldn’t be racing so fast.

A little consideration would be appreciated.
