Dear Editor:
We are our own worst enemy. We want charm of a village, but then buy mostly from big chains for the pricing.
The article about Edgemont is so true and sad. We will lose the charm. This is the battle in Chinatown. New buildings with higher rent displace the old-time charm and character of what we love. New York has gone through this, just on a larger scale and now it isn’t the same as it was. Safe, new and sterile.
Please don’t lose the charm. Support local. Carefully move progress forward. Check motives.
