Letter: Physio helps keep my friends and me healthy and active during pandemic

We are united in proposing our physio is a really special health professional
seniors exercise

Dear Editor:

Early morning, Susan, our physio at CBI clinic on Lonsdale, welcomes us and begins her personal encouragement and nudging us into our various routines. We are three elders who savour our once-a-week treatment appointments, although not always together within the same slot.

Colleen is 91, a lifelong athlete, recuperating this year while working on her physio routine. June is 90 and walks the Vancouver Sun Run each year. Peg is 89, a faithful patient who has profited from Susan’s expertise since l983 when she broke her shoulder cross-country skiing.

Susan has recently nicknamed our trio her “Three Amazing Matriarchs.” She describes her responsibility to us as keeping us healthy, active and able to avoid the temptation of any seniors’ residence that might seem appealing. Her Aussie humour and physio skills ensure we are eager to return each week as we gradually improve. We are united in proposing Susan as a really special health professional, during this worrying COVID-19 season.
