Dear editor:

Re: Restoration Revives North Van Streetcar, April 3 news story.

Your article makes no mention of the man who actually restored the car, less the mechanics. He is Carl Anderson, a North Shore resident and shipwrights foreman at Burrard Dry Dock for many years. I had visited with him many times while he was working on the streetcar [while in storage] at Mahon Park.

Editor’s note: We plan to share more stories about this important piece of our local history, and the local residents involved in its preservation and restoration, when the streetcar is moved to its permanent home at the new North Vancouver Museum, set to open in Lower Lonsdale in mid-2020.
