Dear editor,

I am an owner living in the Shipyards District in the City of North Vancouver. Due to the fact that the city is not enforcing its off leash bylaw we are subjected to a daily barrage of dog feces.

Every day we walk around it along the Spirit Trail and it has become such a problem in our gardens that flank the trail that our gardeners will no longer work in sections of our gardens due to the biohazard. Dogs are continually off leash and go into the gardens to do their business.

Owners are usually a couple of hundred feet away from them and either don’t notice or don’t care.

There is no educating or enforcing being done by the city and with the amount of taxes all of the owners in the Shipyards pay to the city I feel that if the bylaw is not going to be enforced then the city should be having someone pick up all of the feces on a daily basis.

I have sent emails to the city but it seems that they are landing on deaf ears.
