Dear Editor:

Re: MLAs React to NDP/Green Agreement, June 2 front-page story.

So newly minted NDP MLA Bowinn Ma thinks Clark should step down since the majority of people didn’t support the Liberals. They didn’t support any other party either by that logic. And step down? If she did, her deputy premier would take over. Clark is right. Until the Liberals are defeated in the legislature, she is still the premier and even then she has options. She could go to the lieutenant-governor and recommend she call another election. The vote was close enough that that is not out of the question. The Liberals still won this election in both seats and popular vote.

The NDP/Green agreement isn’t even a coalition so the deal they signed isn’t worth the paper it’s written on. How can you possibly make a political agreement for four years? That’s treating our democracy like a contract.
