Dear Editor:

Re: B.C.’s High-flying Attorney General has his Plate Full, July 4 View From the Ledge opinion column by Keith Baldrey.

I liked the column and the opinions in it are highly plausible. The only point I would like to clarify is that proportional representation would likely lead to governments that represent a majority of the voting public. Under first-past-the-post, such governments are rare. Gordon Campbell and his Liberals pulled it off in 2001, but to my knowledge no other party has done this since the Second World War. In most elections, the winner has gotten fewer than half the votes and all the power.

I admit I am a PR fan because PR would give me more choice and maybe someone worth voting for.
