LETTER: Lost watch returned, paying it forward

Dear Editor:

Last Wednesday, when I got to my office, I noticed that my wrist watch was missing.

Ordinarily, this would be bad enough but I purchased this watch in 1982 and it has great sentimental value to me.

After double checking my steps into the office, I called the last stop on my way in — Whole Foods, Park Royal Village, West Vancouver.

“Yes, it’s here” I was told.

Unfortunately, they couldn’t tell me who or how it was turned in so I couldn’t thank the Good Samaritan who had the honesty to turn it in.

After getting over several stammered thank-yous, I asked if there was a charity or something I could donate to as thanks. The young lady who was helping me just said, “Pass it on.”

What a beautiful attitude.

Harvest Project was pleased to get my call, telling them the story and that I would be dropping off a donation to mark the occasion.
