West Vancouver - Dear Editor: Re: Neighbours File Suit Over Construction, Oct. 5 I have just read your above article in Sunday's paper and the comments made by David Trent about the municipality's control of these projects. They do not enforce the bylaws; you have to phone the bylaw department and hope they will come out and deal with the infractions.If they (the district) do not have enough staff, then limit the number of building permits that they issue to the number they can handle with their staff. I am afraid the chief planner does not plan. Why are we only now looking at the ridiculous size of houses that we allow on sites in West Vancouver? Why do we allow every developer to come in and take down all the trees on a lot? Why do we not include the basement and the garages in the house area? Most of the basements are not basements; they are floors that are partially below grade.Michael CarterWest Vancouver
