Dear Editor:

May we (please) propose cheers to the patient, diligent TransLink drivers who deliver us safely to our destinations. They are also there for those who need assistance with wheelchairs, strollers and mobility. TransLink drivers are important friendly guides for tourists – a major B.C. industry.

My husband and I (in our 80s) travelled by bus regularly, rain or shine, for eight years. We enjoyed the sense of community with bus riders and the youth who never failed to offer us a seat.

Regarding traffic congestion, one busload of riders eliminates forty cars off the road, and reduces pollution.

For those who feel fortunate to live on the North Shore, be a bus rider this summer if you are able, and enjoy the ride.
