Dear editor:

Something strange has happened to the price of air in Lynn Valley.

Not long ago you could drive in to one of our three local gas stations and pump up a tire with air at no charge. Well, it's a mystery that now all three stations, located across from each other at the same intersection (Mountain Highway and Lynn Valley Road), have felt the need to set up machines that charge for air - $1.50 for five minutes.

I can't explain it.

Perhaps it's because there was a shortage of air being imported from Turkey or Saudi Arabia?

Or maybe air, like gasoline, hasn't been delivered locally lately, so the price increase at the pump just couldn't be avoided.

I mean, how else could this be explained?

I wonder if the price of air will go up on the weekends just like the price of gasoline does.

It's amazing that the economists and other experts have no explanation for why this is happening.
