Re: Delbrook Affordable Housing Rejected, Nov. 21 front-page story.
After spending thousands of dollars on a survey regarding affordable housing – as if a survey is required to discover that this kind of housing is desperately needed – District of North Vancouver mayor and council have voted “No,” citing all kinds of reasons.
The bottom line, as your Nov. 21 editorial Nobody’s Home puts it, is the haves against the have-nots, a NIMBY attitude. We are a growing district, municipality and (region). Growth is inevitable and we have to adapt. It is normal in cities around the world to live in high-density areas. If the council has a better solution, let’s hear it – and not spend thousands more dollars on another survey!
