Dear Editor:

Re: Historic Grand Blvd Home Gets Makeover, Jan. 29 news story.

My wife and I read this article with interest and appreciation, but it contained an omission. There have been, in fact, three owners – first E.V. Young and his wife, and then most recently the Hendersons.

Between them, however, were my parents G.R.E. Wilkins and his wife Joan, who were there from for a period in the late 1950s to early 1960s. They eventually sold to the Hendersons before moving to the Gulf Islands. (This was partly because my father was appalled by a sudden rise in the property taxes – still a timely topic today!) However, my own family has many happy memories of the house, and it is good to know it’s likely to remain much as it has been, at least externally.
