Dear Editor:
I am one of the many people who don’t think Grand Boulevard needs that path paved for the Green Necklace. I see the city has $2.3 million to spend on the Green Necklace and have spent $200,000 on design but are expecting TransLink to contribute $382,700 for the project.
Why should taxpayers feel comforted that the money is coming out of their other pocket? Where does the transit money come from? Another surplus? Someone has to wake these transit executives up. There is no such thing as a surplus when you are running a deficit.
