Dear Editor:

I am writing to express my gratitude and heartfelt appreciation to Lions Gate Hospital.  After suffering a “gardening accident” (recently) I needed emergency care and follow-up surgery at Lions Gate Hospital.

It has been over 29 years since I needed to go to the hospital for myself, and the care and attention I received couldn’t have been better. Thank-you to ER doctor Jonathan McGrogan and his medical student, as well as the nurse who stitched me up and taught me how to use crutches.

To Dr. Panagiotopoulos and Nurse Nancy and all the operating room staff, thank-you so much for taking such good care of me and ensuring me that I will run another marathon. We are so lucky to live on the North Shore and have the services that we do.  I hope it is at least another 29 years before I need to return to Lions Gate Hospital, but if I need to go before that I know I will receive the best care ever.
