Dear editor:
Could the housing affordability crisis appear in any starker relief than the front page of your Wednesday (June 13) paper? Allan Angell (West Vancouverites Revolt As School Tax Looms) wants us to cry him a river because the value of his house has dropped by $1.5 million over the past five months. The real estate market is “flagging” and some houses are actually selling below assessed value. Oh, the horror! Pardon me, Allan, but I’ll save my sympathy for the family of the mother and son who died, and the nine families left homeless, after a fire destroyed their “relatively affordable” rental complex.
