LETTER: For or against, make your vote count

Dear Editor:

Re: B.C. referendum on proportional representation.

I am disappointed in lobbyists and fear mongers who are warning of fringe elements.

Yes, we might get other views in the legislature. But what I fear more than the five per cent that could get a voice from people who have voted for them, as is their right, is the 40 per cent who don’t vote every election.

With everyone voting, we might have a more moderate vote, or maybe a quiet revolution, or we just might get a minority government that truly compromises and works together for the benefit of the people.

Take the money out of politics, and the government wouldn’t be governing for the corporations.
