Re: Maple Leaf: Show Some Pride, Eh?, July 15 Mailbox.
While I will admit that the flagpole is far from perfect and the rigging of the flag to the pole leaves much to be desired, I will applaud the efforts of the group of some 150-200 young people who celebrated Canada Day at Cleveland Park, installed the flag and sang “O Canada” in unison.
Even now, two-plus weeks later, seeing the flag there with all its imperfections stirs the emotions. All good!
By the way, the Canadian flag was not installed by the paragliding community. The flagging tape originally on the pole served as their wind indicator.
