LETTER: Drivers have an unfair advantage when it comes to collecting returnables

Dear editor: Here I am, on Canada Day, putting my recyclables and garbage out. In a period of 10 minutes, two cars come by to pick up returnables in my lane. It's just not right that car-based people can profit by picking up the bottles and cans.

Dear editor:

Here I am, on Canada Day, putting my recyclables and garbage out. In a period of 10 minutes, two cars come by to pick up returnables in my lane.

It's just not right that car-based people can profit by picking up the bottles and cans.

I know later as many as 10 people on bikes or walking will be searching for returnables in my lane. They work very hard to do that.

The program should not be supporting people who can afford cars.
