Dear Editor:
Re: Kellie Leitch running for the Conservative leadership.
She says she wants to dismantle the CBC, so that would mean she would like to get rid of such programs as The Nature of Things, The Fifth Estate and The Passionate Eye.
These programs happen to be the best programs that we have on our television channels and keep the public informed as to what is going on in our country as well as other parts of the world.
The other federal Conservative leadership candidates also want to privatize other public corporations.
Private corporations do not operate unless they make a fat profit, if they do not they fold up and refuse to operate, these profits are passed on to the consumers who use their products.
Publicly run corporations are run at cost; therefore, they are less expensive to the consumer and public.
One does not run a government exactly the same way a household runs its income and expenses.
