Dear Editor:
I recently spent three days of testing at Lions Gate Hospital (and St. Paul’s) for a routine cardiac health problem. I had not been overnight in a hospital for 36 years, and because I am a senior, had the notion that my medical concerns might be taken lightly.
Wow! Was I surprised by the amazingly kind, dignified, efficient and gracious care I received. I was given every latest test available, with tip-top technology and personal clarification. I am grateful to everyone from the porters and aids, to the specialists who cared for me with compassion and humour.
Many thanks to all of you and a special shout-out to the ambulance drivers who made my trips back and forth a comforting, informative and jolly experience. Everyone needs a big pay raise.
Special thanks to my family doctor, Siobhan Dawson, who is so wise, and Dr. Benny Lau, the expert.
