Re: Is Banning Big Donations Good for B.C.?, Sept. 22 Inquiring Reporter.
I was really surprised that the majority of people quoted by the Inquiring Reporter seemed to not favour a ban on big donations to political parties. Big donations by corporations or trade unions can and often do lead to too much influence on government decisions that are not in the best interests of the public as a whole.
One need only look south to see how Super PACs and big money have corrupted democracy, or even at our previous B.C. government.
