LETTER: Big issues trump Zika concerns

Dear Editor:

Re: Mosquito an Ill-Chosen Moniker, March 20 Mailbox.

When the North Shore News offers locals a voice to express their approval or not of local issues, I am in awe someone would take up space to complain about a name that has been a part of the North Shore for more than 50 or 60 years.

North Vancouver is being overrun with highrises, traffic is frustrating, with only two bridges, the rush hour is continually getting worse, this area used to be a beautiful, serene area away from Vancouver. Parking on Lonsdale has become frustrating, there is a serious lack of affordable housing for our elderly and young alike, most cannot afford to buy here even if they were raised here yet the city keeps providing permits to developers for more highrise buildings.

Are we to end up simply an extension of the West End? Somehow complaining about a name seems rather a waste of space, don’t you think?
