LETTER: Are quakes induced?

Dear Editor: The world is full of coincidences. In the last 12 months there have been more than 500 earthquakes in Oklahoma, 200 in Arkansas and 200 in northeastern B.C. Coincidentally, these are also locations of intensive fracking.

Dear Editor:

The world is full of coincidences.

In the last 12 months there have been more than 500 earthquakes in Oklahoma, 200 in Arkansas and 200 in northeastern B.C. Coincidentally, these are also locations of intensive fracking.

And, stranger still, many North Shore residents have just seen a sharp increase in the earthquake deductible component of their home insurance.

Could it be that North Shore residents are being hit in the pocketbook even before the Clark government’s subsidies and tax breaks for LNG take effect?
