Re: Affordable Housing Warrants Attention, May 6 Mailbox

I completely agree with (letter-writer) Yvette’s comments and views on the development in Lynn Valley.

I have lived there with my wife and four young boys for the past eight years and am disgusted with how the district has handled the development issues as well as the lack of affordable housing.

They continue to give permits to have affordable housing demolished to have condos put up that are completely out of price for myself and many other members of the community.

When did the sense of community and diversity go out the door?

How am I to teach my children to trust the elected officials that we as a community elected if they are not there for us when we need them?

I feel if the district had been doing their job for the members of the community they should have been on top of the property management groups to keep up the exterior of the (Mountain Court) building’s appearance.

Where are they for the community? Where are they for me and my children? Where are we supposed to go if they continue to tear down all affordable housing?

Does that teach my children we are no good to live in North Vancouver?

I completely oppose this development and any further development in Lynn Valley.
