Earlier this week, the NDP government introduced legislation to ban corporate and union donations in provincial politics.
B.C. had recently been dubbed the “Wild West” of election financing and the new legislation seeks to set a $1,200 limit on individual donations while restricting “pay to play” fundraising events.
While for many this news should have been a long time coming, others might scoff at the idea of publically funding political parties. What do you think?
