INQUIRING REPORTER: Should public smoking bans be expanded?

The City of North Vancouver may soon be expanding its prohibited smoking areas.

Coun. Jessica McIlroy received unanimous support during Monday’s council meeting after she proposed a motion for city staff to research expanding bans for areas like plazas and multi-use pathways.

The language of the bylaw would also be updated to include recreational cannabis and vaping.

With current restrictions already limiting areas where smoking is allowed, we wondered: should the city be cracking down more on smokers?
