HST on Hydro bills adds up

Dear Editor: I just received my BC Hydro bill. It reads: "BC HST residential energy credit: $2.52 cr." Then it reads: "The following is a summary of taxes billed to your account since your last invoice: HST at 12 per cent on $39.87: $4.78.

I just received my BC Hydro bill.

It reads: "BC HST residential energy credit: $2.52 cr."

Then it reads: "The following is a summary of taxes billed to your account since your last invoice: HST at 12 per cent on $39.87: $4.78."

Guess what folks, this adds up.

I query the 92 economists who think the HST is good. Perhaps it is for them since they are rich, but not for people who live on fixed incomes.
