Dear Editor:
After several recent stories in the North Shore News about illegal tree cutting in North and West Vancouver, it was refreshing to read your Aug. 31 story, Road Work Halted by Hawks
I am heartened by the fact that a surveyor noticed the nest and went to the trouble of calling in a consultant, and further that the work was immediately halted until the nestlings have fledged.
We as responsible citizens need to practise these kinds of ecofriendly actions as much as possible. We can all start in our own neighborhoods and backyards, just like this story demonstrates.
