Dear Editor:
I just had to sit down to write to you, thanking you for Martin Millerchip's excellent story about palliative care and Dr. Paul Sugar (North Shore News, Sunday, Dec. 4). You were spot on describing him as a "good shepherd."
I have had the privilege of knowing Dr. Sugar for many years and have watched him with his patients. His kindness and caring for them are way above and beyond the call of duty. Reading your article just solidified all that I have seen and heard from his patients. He treated them all as close family members reaching out to them in their hour of need. In this fast cold world that we find ourselves in, he stands as a beacon of light to guide us. It is an honour to know such a terrific person.
Thank you again for your excellent and truthful article. You are to be commended.
