Dear Editor:
I was shocked to hear that someone at the District of North Vancouver approved the removal of the Floralynn Crescent neighbourhood basketball hoop with no verbal communication.
This hoop was left by previous neighbours 15 years ago. It was located at the top of the crescent, out of anyone's way. The hoop was situated in front of a home of supportive parents. They knew how important it was to the other children and parents on the street. Families would congregate "at the hoop" at the end of a warm day. Parents would bring lawn chairs and watch the kids play. It was very social, with no complaints from any neighbours who did not participate. If there were anonymous complaints, the hoop would have been moved within the last 15 years. The district is way out of line if it has that much time on its hands to find fault in this situation.
