Dear Editor:
On Tuesday, Jan. 15 at 10: 30 a.m. I returned several books to West Vancouver library, parking in the two-hour parking area nearby. This took 20 minutes. After returning home I discovered another item to be returned which I did later that day at around 1: 30 p.m. parking again in the two-hour designated area. This took about 15 minutes.
For this I received a $35 parking ticket which I immediately took up with West Vancouver municipal offices on 17th Street.
I was told that it was a parking violation to park twice on the same day in the same block! Being a senior and driving for more than 50 years with a (now) almost perfect driving record, this ticked me off to say the least.
Of the dozen or so people I have spoken to since, not one person knew of this bylaw. I could have bought some much needed groceries with that money.
Should this fact not be advertised?
