What is the single biggest challenge facing the school district and how will you achieve a solution? A long history of under funding. The Supreme Court of Appeal ruling was great news for public education. However, high capacity utilization rates set by the previous government and declining enrolment led to schools being consolidated. Building a school in lower lonsdale and a rebuild at Cloverley will address overcrowding.

What are your thoughts on the province’s new curriculum? New curriculum for the 21st century is long overdue. Curriculum must be fluid and continually growing with the pace of a rapidly changing world.

Why do we need a school board when so much is dictated by the province?  Local school boards are important to ensure local educational and community needs are heard and met by working in partnership with the province and municipalities.
