Do you live in the city? Yes
For how long have you lived in the city? 41 years
Incumbent: Years on council? 21
What are your priorities if elected? Putting the brakes on the crazy pace of condo construction. Getting traffic moving again. Pushing for rapid transit across the Inlet. Building Harry Jerome.
Is the city managing growth appropriately? The current council majority can’t say “No” to developers. The majority has approved 3,782 new housing units in the last four years-more cranes, condos, cars, and not enough parking. Congestion is becoming unbearable. I will put the brakes on the crazy pace of condo construction, and get traffic moving again.
Are you open to amalgamating with the District of North Vancouver? City residents tell me they like our $125 million reserve fund, our compact, easy to service geography, Lonsdale Energy. Amalgamation does nothing for the city.
Should the city facilitate affordable housing and if so, how? Council unanimously passed my motion that 10% of new rental housing be priced 10% below the CMHC market average, in perpetuity. We must do more.
