What PAC experience have you had? extensive PAC experience: as a successful school trustee (2008-2011) and as a PAC parent
How many board meetings did you attend in person in the last year? several, in person, and since my time when I served as a school trustee - I have "attended" all of the board meetings, online.
What is the single biggest challenge facing the school district and how will you achieve a solution? Classroom composition, increase of at-risk youth, upcoming bargaining and education funding are some of the challenges. A collegial, collaborative, progressive School Board, composed of experienced school trustees who have positive and successful track records is an excellent starting point to resolve issues.
What are your thoughts on the province’s new curriculum? I am passionate about learning approaches that engage critical and creative thinking, and social and personal responsibility. I support teacher training for the new content.
Why do we need a school board when so much is dictated by the province? School Board is tasked with governance for $153 million in taxes. We need a board to advocate for children, and the citizens who elect us.
