What PAC experience have you had? Canyon Heights PAC chair and safety committee (6 years) and NV DPAC vice-chair last two (three years total)
How many board meetings did you attend in person in the last year? All except two
What is the single biggest challenge facing the school district and how will you achieve a solution? Not having enough classroom teachers and support staff for students who need extra support. As NVPAC representative on the Inclusion Committee for two years, one priority was how to recruit new staff and provide training for them to have the right qualifications to work in specialized roles.
What are your thoughts on the province’s new curriculum? Teachers have more freedom to use new tools and resources in the classroom and collaborate and learn from one another.
Why do we need a school board when so much is dictated by the province? We need school boards as they are the best advocate for their community’s needs and understand how to support every student's success.
