What is the single biggest challenge facing the school district and how will you achieve a solution? Resource management. This includes fiscal management, analytics around future educational needs, Land management, professional development and teacher training, ancillary staff (i.e. Special needs teachers, counselors, etc.. To address these issue, we need to develop and build advisory committees who engage the community. Committees should represent a cross-section of our stakeholders.
What are your thoughts on the province’s new curriculum? We live in a world of technology and rapid change. This curriculum will help students develop the skills to excel in such a world.
Why do we need a school board when so much is dictated by the province? School trustees exist to advocate and support the needs of children, parents, and teachers.
