Is the city managing growth appropriately? The City has followed the plans for growth designated in the OCP and the Metro Vancouver regional plans. North Van population growth is slower than other municipalities, people are shifting where they live, and what's important is inclusive engagement on planning, combined with the appropriate type and pace of growth.
Are you open to amalgamating with the District of North Vancouver? I'm open to looking into amalgamation if the citizens of the City request it. There are many other ways to improve planning and operational collaboration.
Should the city facilitate affordable housing and if so, how? Yes. The development of more affordable housing requires advocating for support from the provincial and federal governments, and/or increasing community amenity arrangements with developers.
