West Van senior with dementia found after being reported missing

UPDATE: Shortly after 6 p.m., West Vancouver police announced Donald Beck was located "safe and sound."

West Vancouver police are asking for the public’s help in finding a senior with dementia.

Beck, 86, was last seen around 1 p.m. at Royal Centre at 1055 West Georgia St. in Vancouver.

Beck is described as standing five foot nine, weighing 181 pounds. He has short, white hair and was last seen wearing black-rimmed glasses, a black leather jacket, dark pants, and black cloth slip-on shoes.

“Mr. Beck appears hunched over and shuffles his feet as he walks. He may appear lost or confused,” a release from West Vancouver police stated. “Anyone who sees Mr. Beck is asked to call 911 and stay with him until first responders arrive.”
