With live sports still mostly shut down around the world, one North Vancouver family has found a new form of entertainment right outside their door.
North Shore News reader Heather Moffat sent in a series of photos, taken by her husband Tom Boppart, of a nest full of baby Stellar's jays just hatched beside their front porch. The family has watched as the mother has left the nest to find food and then returned to feed her babies and keep them warm.
"We are watching some jays, just not Blue Jays," says Moffat, who is a sports nut who works with Mountain United Football Club and has been an advocate for the West Vancouver Place For Sport campaign. "My husband has become obsessed and so has the rest of the household."
