Those looking to make a late night mission across the Lions Gate Bridge Thursday evening are advised to seek out a different route.

A single lane of alternating traffic will be in effect from 10 p.m. tonight until 5 a.m. Friday morning, according to the Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure.

The lane closures are being implemented in order to do joint and bearing repairs on the bridge.

While sidewalks will remain open for pedestrians and cyclists, drivers should expect delays during this period and are encouraged to seek an alternative route, notes a release from the ministry.

Electrical maintenance is also required on some of the overhead signs, which should be completed by the end of the month.
