The Odlum Brown VanOpen hosted by West Vancouver’s Hollyburn Country Club was recently recognized as one of the Challenger Tournaments of the Year for 2017 on the ATP Tour.

The awards are based on player votes, with only three events out of 155 tournaments held in 41 countries worldwide receiving the honours. The VanOpen returned with a bang in 2017 after a one-year hiatus.

“It is an incredible honour to receive this award and extra special given that it’s voted on by players,” stated VanOpen chairwoman Carlota Lee in a release. “In bringing back the Odlum Brown VanOpen last year, it was our goal to create a tournament experience unlike any other for the players, spectators, officials, volunteers, patrons and our partners. This award reflects the hard work of our entire team and we look forward to building on last year’s success to make things even better this year.”

The 2018 edition of the tournament will run Aug. 11-19 at Hollyburn.
