North Vancouver’s Sophie Swant was recently named to this year’s Great Northwest Athletic Conference women’s basketball all-conference second team.

The Simon Fraser University junior forward was selected by coaches after she led the Clan with a 14.2 points per game scoring average.

Swant, who went to Argyle Secondary, is described as an “intense and competitive athlete” according to her SFU bio.

She moved into the starting lineup this season and led the Clan in scoring 12 times this year. Throughout the conference she ranks sixth in scoring and 16th in rebounding. But her free throw average is the best in the conference, shooting 89.4 per cent all season.

This is Swant’s first time getting this title in her career.
