More gold for super senior Christa Bortignon

West Vancouver octogenarian track star wins at Huntsman World Seniors Games

West Vancouver super senior Christa Bortignon ended her track and field season with seven gold medals in the W80 age group at the Huntsman World Senior Games in St. George, Utah in October.

Despite suffering a broken ankle in May, Bortignon still managed to post four world records – in W80 long and triple jump, indoors and outdoors – to go along with six world championship gold medals, 12 Canadian records and nine Canadian championship gold medals this year.

According to her own tallies, Bortignon has won 501 medals since beginning track and field in 2009 at age 72.
