West Vancouver police are appealing to the good Samaritan who helped an injured cyclist Wednesday evening to contact them with more details about the hit-and-run accident.

West Vancouver police are appealing to the good Samaritan who helped an injured cyclist Wednesday evening to contact them with more details about the hit-and-run accident.

The 22-year-old cyclist was hit by a car as he biked south on Taylor Way near Inglewood Avenue around 7 p.m. A woman who stopped to help the cyclist used his phone to call for help. The man was taken to Lions Gate Hospital by ambulance and later released. His injuries were minor, said police.

Were hoping that the Samaritan who stopped to help him will see our press release and call in, because we dont know who she is, said Const. Tammy Khorram, a spokeswoman with the West Vancouver police. We would love to hear from her, and anybody else who witnessed the incident.

While the intersection isnt particularly bad for cyclists, said Khorram, it is one of West Vancouvers high incident crash sites.

Police are looking for a black, newer-model four door sedan, possibly American made. The front of the vehicle would likely be damaged.

Anyone with information is asked to call the West Vancouver Police Department at 604-925-7300. Callers should cite file 12-7304.
