World music in the halls of Brockton

IMAGINE a school where learning outside of the classroom is as important as learning in the classroom, imagine Brockton. At Brockton we strive to ensure that all of our students receive a balanced, challenging and fun educational experience.

IMAGINE a school where learning outside of the classroom is as important as learning in the classroom, imagine Brockton.

At Brockton we strive to ensure that all of our students receive a balanced, challenging and fun educational experience. Throughout the year, a multitude of inspiring and stimulating co-curricular choices are provided. Our internationally-recognized World Music Program provides Upper School students with the opportunity to travel locally and globally to perform (China 2010, Greece 2012). Through the program, students develop interest, curiosity and enjoyment in their own musical creativity and that of others. Students develop a global consciousness through the five pillars of the program: Leadership, Collaboration, Mentorship, Community Service and Artistic Excellence. Our other co-curricular opportunities include earning co-pilot and radio operator licences and flying a Cessna 172 with Air Time Canada; learning public-speaking skills; playing a musical instrument; constructing Lego robotic machines; reporting for the school newspaper; completing a first aid qualification; achieving the Duke of Edinburgh's Award; gardening; cooking with a professional chef (the Dizzy Whisk); knitting; dancing with Pro-Arte dance academy; improvisation and drama productions; digital story telling, and the list goes on.

Our students are encouraged to be risk-takers and try something new either by participating in a new activity or by leading a group themselves. Brockton offers a vibrant, small-school environment where every opportunity is seen as a learning experience, and where co-curricular participation is at 100 per cent.
