Seniors Peer Support: Caring volunteers ages 55+ are needed to assist other seniors to help maintain their independence and to access resources in the community. Once a sufficient number of volunteers have registered, they will receive training by Seniors Peer Counselling B.C. The class is hoped to start by early October. Rice Bowls, Broken Bottles and a Bathhouse in the Woods: The Elders Council for Parks in British Columbia will host a free presentation with archeology Prof. Bob Muckle Thursday, Oct. 11 at 11 a.m. at the Heritage Centre, 1620 Mount Seymour Rd., North Vancouver. Muckle will talk about his research that has focused on excavating previously unknown Japanese logging camps dating to approximately 1920 in the Seymour Valley.
